Business Feature Article #1

Being a college student at Eastern Michigan University, there comes a time when I just want to just go somewhere with friends and relax. Through the week I am either working or doing school work, so on the weekends I like to have fun. Being from another city I’ve came to realized that there’s not much to do around the Ypsilanti area. So I decided to do a business feature article and open a new business called Skate on all Fours, which is a skating ring. Back at home friends go to the near by Rolladium and skate, mingle with friends and just have fun.
Before getting started I asked my fellow classmates on campus what they do for fun, and most replies were either go to the movies, have friends over there houses and or nothing. “I think having a Skating Ring will definitely be entertaining and something new. I myself wouldn’t mine going” said sophomore Kenesha Long.
When looking over how much it cost to skate now and days I did the pricing around others. The cost varies from $7.00-$15.00 depending whether or not you have your own skates or if you’ll be renting from us.
Skate on all Fours, is for all ages and will be opened Monday-Sunday, there be certain events held like college night. College night basically speaks for itself, it will happen every Friday from 8pm-2am and you must be a college student or at least eighteen in order to get in. There will be no alcoholic drinks neither served nor permitted due to many purposes. Like many other places there will be a concession stand that sells everything from burgers, pizza, pretzels, hotdogs, nachos and etc. as well as a pop machine.
Another thing that Skate on all Fours offer is a game room, where those who just want to play little games for $0.25 cents and candy machines for the same price as well.
Skate on all Fours, is for everyone even parents to come and have a good time, skating to your favorite music and being apart of something new. Skate on all Fours is an indoor skating ring and will be opened all year round. Most people may say that they don’t know how to skate, and that the joy of opening something like this, at Skate on all Fours there will be lessons that you can pay for to learn how so there’s no excuses not to join in on the fun. “I actually do have my own pair of skates but never wear them because I have no where to wear them to, and I have not skated since I was a child so I’m pretty sure I’ll be sitting,” said freshman Kendall Lewis. If you do decide to skate a little but would rather sit as well there will be sitting areas where you can enjoy sitting on a comfortable booth, table and or chair.
When looking on the internet I found many articles about the different forms of skating and because this is an indoor skating rink you can either rent your skates which either come on four wheels or the in line skating on three and if you your own you can skate on those as well. To secure everyone’s safety and make sure everyone have a great time, there will be lockers inside the skating ring with already key locks already provided no need to bring your own. Another ting for the first time skaters there will be a woman and or man on the wood floor helping those who have fallen, making sure there ok .
When looking over many articles on skating, there are many different types and some consider skating a sport. I read an article that gave safety tips that which can help benefit those with younger children and decide to take them to Skate on all Fours. The number one tip is just being aware of your surroundings. Teenagers like myself like to skate in pairs and or groups and can sometimes not pay attention and bump into someone else. Just being aware and making sure that your not going to fast where you’re going to endanger someone else.
This was just a brief pre-view on what’s next to come. Hope to see you all there and ready to have fun and experience Skate on all Fours. Just remember it’s a place to have fun and mingle so when your weekends looking dull and boring come down to Skate on all Fours and be apart of the new experience.
